The nomination period has closed for APEA President and Secretary/Treasurer positions. The following members in good standing were nominated:

 

President: Jesse Slone, SU #4900

Secretary/Treasurer: Michael Williams, SU #4900

 

Per the APEA/AFT Constitution, if there is only a single nominee, an election is not necessary. Therefore, Mr. Slone will be seated at the Biennial APEA Caucus on Oct. 23-24 to begin his 2-year term.

Per the APEA/AFT Constitution, the Secretary/Treasurer may not be from the same local as the President. Mr. Williams has decided to step down. The vacancy will be filled as outlined in the APEA/AFT Constitution:

APEA Constitution Section VII.5 Vacancies:
Should a vacancy occur, it shall be filled by temporary appointment from the Board of Directors. A Board of Director or an Alternate Board of Director filling a temporary appointment retains their Board of Director’s seat at the end of the temporary appointment.  If the vacancy occurs more than six (6) months prior to the next election, a special election shall be held to fill the remainder of the term.  The election shall be conducted by the voting delegates of the previous Biennial Caucus.
